flyTab iPad EFB Avionics Interface Module Functional Milestones Completed

Avionics & Systems Integration Group (ASIG) has announced today that their partner, and avionics manufacturer Shadin Avionics, has completed early development milestones for the iPad® flyTabTM EFB Avionics Interface Module (AIM). The AIM has completed initial functional milestones and satisfied stability testing of their passive iOS interface for Class 2 iPad EFB integrations. The companies are now progressing towards the manufacture of red‐label demonstration units for customer laboratory evaluations and sales and marketing exhibitions.

The AIM, developed with support from Apple® using licensed technical data, represents the company’s first data enabled iOS accessory, specifically designed to meet the situational awareness needs of commercial and government aviation. The AIM integrates seamlessly with either of A429 avionic buss data and/or MIL‐STD‐1553 per end‐user requirement. The AIM is marketed under ASIG’s flyTabTM brand of aerospace and Mil‐Spec iPadTM accessories.
